Meet Stephanie Speakmon: Community Manager at Austin Point

03.05.2026

Before the concerts, the coffee dates, and the kids racing up the play hill at The 1824, there’s something else that’s starting to take shape at Austin Point: the relationships that turn neighbors into a community.

Laying the foundations for community relationships is just as important as laying down streets and sidewalks. Helping nurture those connections from day one is Stephanie Speakmon, our Community Manager serving Austin Point through Homeowners Association (HOA) partner, CCMC.

Born and raised in Houston, Stephanie left for Chicago to attend college before eventually returning to her Texas roots. Experiencing life both inside and outside Texas helped shape how she thinks about neighborhoods and the role they play in everyday life.

“I love being a steward of a community that’s valuable to homeowners,” she says. “It’s meaningful work that can really improve quality of life for others.”

Stephanie began her career in customer service and e-commerce operations, but what she loved most was helping people navigate systems, solve problems, and feel heard. That passion led her into community management more than 10 years ago – and she hasn’t looked back since.

If you ask Stephanie what “community” means to her, she’ll tell you it’s all about connection and building relationships with neighbors you might not otherwise meet in your daily life.

“Your neighbors are so special because they typically aren’t your family, and they’re usually not your coworkers either,” she explains. “But they’re incredibly important to how we experience life. They’re the people who live alongside us and who we share everyday moments with.”

At Austin Point, that philosophy fits perfectly. With walkable streets, parks, trails, and The 1824 social hub at the center of Phase One, Austin Point was designed to bring people together organically. Stephanie’s role is to help nurture that connection as the community grows.

So what exactly does a Community Manager do? The short answer: a little bit of everything. “No day is ever the same,” Stephanie says. “You might see me walking the community, checking on maintenance repairs, or just making sure the neighborhood feels welcoming and well cared for.”

Her responsibilities range from overseeing service and maintenance vendors and ensuring the neighborhood looks its best, to communicating with board members and getting to know Austin Point’s residents. Once The 1824 opens, Stephanie’s office will be located inside, making her a friendly and accessible face that homeowners and future residents can look forward to seeing regularly.

For Stephanie, communication is the most important part of her role. “Communicating clearly and without judgment makes all the difference. I like to help people understand the ‘why’ behind everything we do as part of the HOA team.”

Stephanie is eager to make Austin Point’s HOA program something residents genuinely appreciate. For her, a great HOA experience is built on education, transparency, and reliability. By helping residents understand processes early, she believes many concerns can be resolved before they ever become frustrations.

“It’s not just about giving residents a book of rules,” she explains. “It’s about understanding why certain standards are in place, and how they protect the long-term value and experience of the community. The goal is to make it feel like home. That’s what really matters.”

This people-first approach reflects CCMC’s philosophy. With more than 50 years of experience managing large-scale master-planned communities, CCMC focuses on tailoring operations and lifestyle programming to each community’s unique vision.

Austin Point stands out to Stephanie for its forward-thinking vision. She’s particularly inspired by the way Austin Point weaves together history, nature, and modern life – honoring the land’s roots while creating something entirely new for the area.

“This isn’t just another neighborhood,” she says. “It’s the next big city. I’m most excited to see how Austin Point impacts everything around it. As the community grows, it’s going to ripple outward across Houston and Fort Bend County. It’ll show people a new way of thinking about how we can live and connect with each other.”

If Stephanie could envision her ideal day-in-the-neighborhood, she’d start by walking her dog in the morning and stopping to enjoy some coffee. (“I pretty much always order a cold brew, no matter the weather or temperature!”) After that, she’d spend time exploring the outdoors and meeting some new neighbors in the process. To wind down, her perfect evening is spent catching up with friends over a delicious dinner. She also looks forward to making The 1824 part of her daily routine.

“I can’t wait to grab a coffee and a sandwich at The 1824,” she says. “We’re losing gathering spaces and third places in everyday life, but Austin Point is bringing them back in a major way. I can’t understate how important that will be to community life here.”

As Austin Point continues to grow, Stephanie will be there welcoming new homeowners, answering questions, and helping residents settle in. “Community doesn’t happen by accident,” she says. “It happens with intention.”

And it happens with people like Stephanie helping lead the way.
