When Jessica and Roger Leavitt’s name was drawn to win $20,000 at Austin Point’s Open House Party, it was more than just a stroke of luck. It was a full-circle moment for a couple who had already committed to making Austin Point their next home.
“We were already under contract with David Weekley Homes when we walked into the event,” said Jessica. “So when they called our name as the $20,000 giveaway winners, we were stunned. I was jumping up and down, and Roger asked me, ‘Are you sure they said my name?’ It was such a surprise.”
The Leavitts’ journey to Austin Point spans multiple states and seasons of life. Originally from southern Utah, they had previously lived in the Houston area, but spent four years back in Utah during the pandemic. Roger’s job eventually brought them back to Texas again, and they began house hunting in the summer of 2024, determined to find a home that felt right.
“We looked at homes for over a year, but nothing clicked,” Roger explained. “Then we toured the David Weekley model at Austin Point. It was the first model open, and we both immediately felt at home. We had already owned a David Weekley home before, so we were confident about making the decision to work with them again.”
They chose the Lilac floor plan: a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home with a spacious corner lot, and three-car garage – features that fit their evolving lifestyle perfectly.
“We’re about to be empty nesters,” said Jessica. “Our youngest is a high school senior, and with our two older kids living in Utah and Peru, this felt like the right size for the next chapter.”
As early buyers, they’ve also received the inaugural buyer incentive package, which includes upgrades like appliances, window blinds, and high-end finishes throughout the home. “It’s our first new construction home,” said Roger. “And honestly, I was a little nervous about picking everything out, so having a home already beautifully finished was kind of perfect.”
Winning the $20,000 giveaway sweetened the journey even more. “The house was already built and spec’d out, but now that we’ve won this giveaway, we have even more flexibility to pick out décor and furnish it the way we want,” Jessica said.

The Leavitts were drawn to Austin Point because of its thoughtful design, variety, and vision for the future. “What stood out to us here was the diversity of builders, home styles, and square footages all blended together in one neighborhood,” said Roger. “It doesn’t feel cookie-cutter. it feels like a real community.”
Jessica was equally impressed. “Even just visiting for the Open House, we noticed the landscaping and green spaces were already so beautiful, and everything felt well thought out. Even though we had already picked out our home, we still loved walking through all the other models during the event.”
For the Leavitts, Austin Point offers the kind of lifestyle they’re excited to grow into. They’re also excited about the big-picture vision.
“The road access is still growing, but we can already see how the transit improvements like the Fort Bend Tollway will make a huge difference,” Roger said. “You have to forward-project a little, but the potential here is enormous.”
Jessica and Roger were among the first buyers at Austin Point, but they already see themselves as part of something bigger.
“Come take a look for yourself,” Jessica said. “If you can see what’s coming, and what’s already here, then you’ll understand why we’re so excited. We’re not just buying a home. We’re buying into a community that’s growing and evolving, and we’re glad to be part of that journey from the beginning.”
Congratulations to the Leavitts – true trailblazers of Austin Point!
